Book a time of day when your child is usually rested and fed, and talk about the visit in simple, positive terms in the days before. Bringing a favorite toy or blanket helps. Try to avoid saying the words that worry them, and let them pick the show they want on the TV when you arrive. A typical children's haircut takes about twenty to thirty minutes. First haircuts usually run a little longer, closer to forty five minutes, because we build in settling-in time plus the certificate, the lock of hair, and photos. Color, highlights, and treatments are longer appointments, so let us know what you need when you call and we will set aside the right amount of time.

Yes. We offer ear piercing for children and adults, done carefully and calmly by experienced staff. We talk your child through it first, mark the placement so you can approve it before anything happens, and send you home with clear aftercare instructions. Please call ahead so we can schedule enough time and make sure the right person is on that day.

There is no minimum age. Some babies come in at six or seven months for a fringe trim, others wait until well past their second birthday. Whenever your family feels ready, we are ready. Very small babies are usually cut on a parent's lap, and we take the same care with a few soft wisps as we would with a full head of curls.

Absolutely, and we welcome the chance to plan ahead. Tell us when you book and we will schedule a quieter time, keep the clippers off if the sound is difficult, skip the cape or the wash, work in short bursts, or let your child stay in their own stroller or your arms. Some families visit once just to look around before the real appointment, and that is always welcome.
